Maldon Council has landscaped and planted up this country park next to the Crouch Estuary at Burnham. It is largely open grassland with a few small copses and a small wetland area with open water, marsh and reedbed.
Skylarks nest in the rough grassland and the wild flowers, shrubs and young trees attract seed-eating birds such as linnets and goldfinches. Gulls and other birds visit from the estuary.
In summer, insect life is good with many butterflies over the grassland and dragonflies and damselflies over the wetland.
